And just as we want our furniture to be the best you can find, we want our promise to you to be equally superior. That’s why, while most furniture manufacturers only offer a 2 year warranty, we offer a 12 year warranty.
Your item has been created using the highest quality materials by skilled craftsmen. It was also quality checked and tested at several stages, from the supply chain to production to the moment it arrived in our warehouse. So we’re confident that 99% of the time, your piece will be exactly as you imagined it.
What does this warranty cover?
Residential:
This warranty covers manufacturing defects in Thorvald & Design furniture.
Commercial:
This warranty covers metal or solid wood structural failures in Thorvald & Design furniture resulting from light commercial use in coffee shops, hotels, offices, or similar.
How long does the coverage last?
Residential:
This warranty starts from the date of delivery. This warranty lasts for 12 years on any metal or solid wood structural failures from residential, non-commercial usage. This warranty lasts for 1 year on any soft parts and workmanship-related failures. Examples of failures covered in the 1-year warranty are threading, piping, buttons, rubber components, and parts with glue as adhesive, that come loose from residential, non-commercial usage.
Commercial:
This warranty starts from the date of delivery and lasts for 1 year.
What will Thorvald & Design do?
Residential:
For the 12 year warranty on metal or solid wood structural failures, Thorvald & Design will provide replacement part(s) at no charge with a lead time of 8–14 weeks. For the 1 year warranty on soft parts and workmanship-related failures—including threading, piping, buttons, rubber components, and parts with glue as adhesive—Thorvald & Design will reimburse local repair charges under the conditions that:

The repair service quote is first approved by Thorvald & Design, and

Thorvald & Design does not guarantee the work performed by the local repair service and cannot be held to further compensation in the event of dissatisfactory repair work.
Commercial:
Depending on the issue this may involve shipping you replacement parts, organizing repair, or a complete replacement (at our discretion). Thorvald & Design will provide replacement part(s) at no charge with a lead time of 8–14 weeks. The customer is responsible for any labour and/or shipping charges on the replacement part(s). As an alternative resolution to replacement parts, Thorvald & Design will reimburse local repair charges under the conditions that:

What does this warranty not cover?
Residential:
This warranty does not cover marble, paint, leather, metal finish, fabric, fiberglass, foams, plywood, rugs, veneers, cushioning, and coating materials. Thorvald & Design’ furniture that is not explicitly specified as suitable for outdoor use is not covered for damage or defect from outdoor use. Any problem that is caused by abuse, misuse or an act of nature (such as wind, flood, freezing water—including splitting and breakage from water accumulation in tubing), animal damage, burn marks (including those resulting from sunlight passing through glass filled with liquid which can at certain times act as a magnifying lens), fading, staining, and mildewing of fabrics, compression of cushion fillings/fiber, and failure to take reasonable care of the furniture including proper care and maintenance is not covered. Consequential and incidental damages are not recoverable under this warranty. Coverage terminates if you sell or otherwise transfer the furniture. If the products are removed from the mainland US & Canada the warranty is considered void.
Commercial:
This warranty does not cover soft parts, marble, paint, leather, fabric, fiberglass, polypropylene, foams, plywood, veneers, and coating materials. Warranties are only valid when products are used for their intended purpose and exhibit normal use. Products are not covered by warranty if the defect is from causes beyond normal wear and tear. Thorvald & Design’ furniture that is not explicitly specified suitable for outdoor use is not covered for damage or defect from outdoor use. Any problem that is caused by abuse, misuse, or an act of God (such as a flood) is not covered. Consequential and incidental damages are not recoverable under this warranty. Coverage terminates if you sell or otherwise transfer the furniture.
How do you get service?
If a product is faulty, the customer must contact Thorvald & Design within 14 days of delivery and provide any information requested including, but not limited to: images and a full description of the fault.
